MedAssist made the move as part of a growth strategy for serving increasing demand from both current hospital customers and prospective customers. In an interview about the Kreative Nursing Solutions partnership, MedAssist Division President Noel Felipe talked about the specific drivers within denial management and their strategy.

“While denial prevention is the financial environment hospitals seek to achieve, to get there, you have to have the right pieces. Navigating that journey has produced a new layer of complexity in the increased prioritization of medical necessity adherence. So while we work to facilitate prevention with analytics and process, hospitals are requiring more support in appealing claims denied based on medical necessity guidelines to recapture revenue. That work requires clinical expertise at scale,” said Mr. Felipe.

When asked about her take on the partnership, Kreative Nursing CEO Sarah Macias, RN, CCM, BA, MHA Candidate had this to say, “We are excited to be a resource in MedAssist’s efforts to support hospitals in their work to manage appeals and prevent denials. Medical necessity is simple in name only. Post-treatment analysis of unique clinical situations inclusive of the application of medical necessity guidelines is complex. But we live it and understand how to navigate that complexity to help ensure accurate outcomes for patients and hospitals.”
